For maximum protection when out in the field the jacket has a H-tex membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. There are storm cuffs and waterproof zipped handwarmer pockets for extra protection during the colder, wetter months. 

The Hoggs Of Fife Ballater Field Jacket also boasts bellows pockets to the front, a poacher's pocket to the rear, and zipped internal pockets for securing mobile phones and any other valuable items.
