The best shooting sticks for sitting; we recommend the Bisley Country Folding Shooting Seat and Walking stick. This is my choice of the best shooting stick and it is ideal for carrying around as it folds away into a handy waterproof shoulder bag when not in use. The shooting stick height is adjustable for comfort and versatility also comes with interchangeable end pieces with either a spike for in the countryside, or a rubber ferrule for harder surfaces. The best shooting stick is clearly a matter of preference as everyone is different.

How to sit on a shooting stick, sitting or standing?

The best way to sit on a shooting stick is to use it for propping yourself up, as shooting sticks only have the single leg we wouldn’t suggest attempting to sit on it like a stool! Instead embed the spike (if the stick has one), into the earth, open the seat and lean into the seat. Ideally the shooting stick should act as a comfortable perch to lean on.
